SCRAP METAL
We are pleased to now offer scrap metal recycling!
We will weigh and pay for your scrap per kilogram on the spot. Simply drive into our shed and turn left where our friendly staff will bring a skip for you to load. This then gets weighed, and cash on the spot is paid according to the grade and weight of the scrap.
We pay money for ferrous and non ferrous metals
We pay for the following categories of scrap:
Clean/domestic aluminium
Aluminium cast rims
stainless steel
Aluminium/Copper radiators
Black Compressors
Electric motors (No large motors over 100kg)
Brass
Copper domestic
Copper 1
Copper insulated wire (No plugs or armoured cable)
Lead
Scrap Steel/White goods
Car/Truck Batteries (Excludes lithium batteries)
If scrap of multiple categories is brought in mixed, we will pay as per the lowest value scrap. We are happy to pay for multiple categories of scrap and weigh them separately - please note sorting of scrap CAN NOT be done on site.
Examples of scrap metal:
Copper Domestic: Old/corroded/painted copper pipes, tanks, plate
Copper 1: Shiny/new pipe, uncoated/no corrosion, bus bars
Clean/domestic aluminium: Fly screens free of metal fittings, aluminium bull bars, extrusion
Stainless steel: Vehicle roll bar/hoops, sinks, pots & pans
Aluminium/copper radiators: Radiator from fridges and air-conditioning units
Brass: Taps and fittings, joiners, handles and valves for plumbing and gas systems
whitegoods: Washing machines, fridges, microwaves
Copper insulated wire: Extension cords, jumper leads, domestic housing cable, free of plugs
Lead: Fishing weights, wheel weights
electric motors: Motors from pumps, alternators
Scrap we can't recycle
Some scrap metal we are unable to recycle due to multiple reasons between safety concerns, difficulty of recycling, or larger than usual costs due to the nature of the scrap. These include, but are not limited to the following items:
Gas bottles/pressurised containers
Scrap heavily contaminated e.g. deck chairs with the fabric, clotheslines with the line still attached, awnings with the fabric attached etc.
hazardous materials containers
E-Waste, including televisions, dvd players, computers, monitors etc.
Mattresses
Car bodies
Scrap will be refused at staff discretion if we believe that any products pose a safety concern or is heavily contaminated with products that will not accept - Staff have final say.
